Southdown at its Zenith is the latest part of Colin Druce’s history of Southdown, this time published by Bowden Publishing and covering the years 1953-1959. In its 226 pages with hardback covers there are chapters on Fleet Developments, Bus Service Developments, Coach Services, Excursions and Private Hire, Operators acquired by Southdown, Garages, Bus Stations, Offices and Staff along with two appendices on the Southdown Fleet and Southdown Bus Services at 1 January 1953. The book is profusely illustrated with photographs, many from the Southdown Enthusiasts’ Club collection, maps and traffic notices.
