Portsmouth’s Limited Stop Era
£5.00
Published July 2026
This new SEC publication details the era of Limited stop services in Portsmouth, which started in May 1974.
The book details:
- the circumstances that led up to the new services,
- how they developed,
- the effect of the National Bus Company’s Market Analysis Project in November 1981 and De-regulation in October 1986,
- how the purchase of Southdown by Stagecoach affected the services, and
- the end of the era in January 1990.
The book is in the same A5 format as our Classic Southdown series, but only covers the one subject. There is one colour photograph on the front cover and two more on the outside rear cover, and there are forty photographs in the book, most of which are in colour, together with copies of maps and some posters advertising the changes. The book has 40 pages including covers.
